Polystyrene Foam Blockouts
Polystyrene Foam Blockouts
EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) foam is suitable for a large range of uses in the concrete and construction industry, including formwork blockouts, void creation, packaging and bridgedeck purposes. Polystyrene is an ideal product to use as it is lightweight and has excellent insulating and shock absorbing characteristics.
EPS foam is produced in a wide range of densities providing a varying range of physical properties. These are matched to the various applications where the material is used to optimise its performance.
A common application for EPS foam is blockouts, which are used to create a void around electrical and water pipes before pouring a concrete slab around them. After the concrete hardens, the polystyrene foam is removed, and the void allows plumbers and electricians access around the pipes to complete their work. The void is then concreted in after the trades have completed the required connections.
At Safari we supply a full range of different foam density classes, including SL, M, H & VH Grade. Datasheets showing the density of our different classes are available on request.
We have custom cutting facilities available in Perth, and can offer the polystyrene foam in almost any block or sheet size imaginable. Please call us to discuss your custom requirements.
