Bitumenised Canite
Bitumenised Canite
Canite Bitumen Joint (commonly referred to as Fibreboard) is a bitumen impregnated fibre board that is used for compression and expansion joints in concrete slabs. Bitumenised canite (sometimes called Kanite or BIF mastic) is commonly used in footpaths and other lightweight slab applications.
Commonly specified by engineers as ‘Compressible Joint Filler board’, Canite boards are available in 75mm and 100mm wide strips, or 1200mm wide sheets. The sheets are commonly used on bridges, tunnels and other large infrastructure projects.
Composed of cellular fibres bonded together and saturated with bitumen by a special process, Canite strips are specified in footpath joints by many local councils across Australia, along with Lockoint PVC joints. These expansion joint fillers are easy to cut to size and provide a sturdy, long lasting joint.
Here at Safari Group we stock the Canite bitumen expansion joint in 75mm and 100mm wide strips, and also in full 1200mm wide sheets.
